- Autobahn: Dynamic and Adaptive Chassis Control, 19-inch alloy wheels, Ventilated front seats, Climatronic Touch three-zone automatic climate control with an advanced air filter, Leather upholstery
Design
The exterior design of the new VW Golf GTI is styled around aggression that lets Taunton drivers know it means business. At the front, you are greeted by LED lighting around the front and back for superior illumination. Plus, you can add more aggression to the exterior with optional two-tone 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the cabin is built around you, highlighted by a three-spoke leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with available paddle shifters. Further, the seats can be adorned with leather upholstery with heat and ventilated capability. They also feature the signature GTI logo embroidered on the front seats. Plus, you can take advantage of the 34.5 cubic feet of space that can easily access through the rear hatch.
Performance
To power you along on your journey, the new VW Golf GTI features a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It takes you from zero to 60 miles per hour in under six seconds. You can take full control of your journey thanks to a seven-speed available DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters. If you like a more classic feel, an available six-speed manual transmission is also available
You can customize the driving feel with Driving Mode Selection. You can select from four modes, with Custom mode allowing you to adjust every facet of the car's performance. Further, the VW Golf GTI features sharp handling thanks to a VAQ limited-slip front differential lock system. The system adjusts the torque to optimize balance to optimize stability.
Behind the wheel, you can keep track of the Golf GTI's performance through the Vehicle Dynamics Manager, delivering performance data and personalization options.
Safety
Along with the huge driving feel and performance, the VW Golf GTI features a full suite of safety technologies and features designed to keep you safe while on the road. This variety of safety features includes Adaptive Cruise Control to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. Further, the VW Golf offers six stability-enhancing systems to keep the vehicle stable and secure in an emergency.
Further, Rear Traffic Alert and Active Blind Spot Monitoring help keep you apprised of other vehicles around you. You can also utilize the Rear View Camera system to avoid objects that are located behind when reversing.
Technology
With technology, the VW GTI features a 10.0-inch touchscreen that gives you quick and easy access to both convenience and connectivity features. You can connect to your favorite apps wirelessly through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. You can also keep your device up at all times with a wireless charging pad in the center console.
The optional Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro features a striking bright red aesthetic. It can show dynamic driving information, including a g-force meter and torque output. You can also stay connected to the VW Golf remotely through VW Car-Net. With it, you can receive vehicle alerts and lock and unlock doors.
